Sponsored collaboration with Konectbus & Norwich Mumbler
The lovely Katrin, AKA Norwich Mumbler, asked if I’d be interested in working with her to try out Konectbus and their new app… I couldn’t say no to a day out! I was excited to take the little ones for a bus trip. Flora had never been on a bus before and it was so nice to see their excitement.
The new app is so easy to use. The bus timetables are clear to see, there is a journey planner which I found really useful, service updates, and you can buy tickets on it before your journey. It was so easy to scan my ticket on my phone when I got on the bus, also no need to be searching around for change!
We had been wanting to check out all the Dinosaur events on in the city- so what better way to combine our bus trip with a day in Norwich?!
The kids loved the novelty of going on the bus. Fraser started singing the wheels on the bus as soon as we got on and they loved spotting things on the journey which they wouldn’t normally see so well in a car.
When we reached the city, at the top of our list was a visit to see Dippy at Norwich Cathedral (a Diplodocus skeleton that was originally featured at the London Natural history museum but has now travelled to Norwich for the summer). I had heard that the queues can get pretty long so we decided to get there 15 mins before they opened at 10am. The plan worked and we went straight in. Dippy really was a sight to see! Standing underneath, we felt so small and I loved explaining to the kids that it is a real dinosaur skeleton, sparking lots of interesting conversation.
We had also planned to do the GoGoDiscover Dinosaur trail whilst we were in the city and spotted our first one just outside the cathedral created by Norwich School. The kids were so excited to see the dinosaurs and they had so much fun looking at the designs.
It was so nice not worrying about getting back to a car park at a certain time or car park prices getting expensive because we were staying too long. We stayed as long as we wanted in the city, knowing that the Park and Ride bus was very regular so we wouldn’t have to wait long. The kids were delighted that our bus back was a double decker. They loved sitting at the top and having a great view of the journey back to the car.
Our experience with KonectBus was great! The buses were clean, the drivers were friendly and they turned up on time. What more could you ask for?!
A big thank you to Katrin and Konectbus for this opportunity. We had such a fun day and will definitely be using your buses and app again soon.
