Sponsored collaboration with Konectbus & Norwich Mumbler
We were so excited when Katrin from Norwich Mumbler asked us to be a part of her Bus Challenge with Konectbus! As a part of a paid campaign, we were asked to travel on local Konectbus to promote travel across the county now that restrictions have been lifted. So, my challenge was to see which local parks I could find on the Konectbus routes around me.
Our day started just a stones throw away from our home as the number 21 bus stops right outside our house. Since we have moved in I have wanted to hop on the bus with Stanley, so this was a great challenge for us to participate in.
We took the number 21 bus into Dereham from North Elmham where there are lots of Konectbus routes we could have chosen to change to. We chose the number 11 as we hadn’t yet reviewed the play park in Shipdham for our website, and knew there were some great parks on the number 11 route that we had been to before that we’d love to visit again!
We used the Konectbus app to plan our route and navigate our timings. The app has all of the timetables on, along with a journey planner and even your ticket. You can view departure times from each bus stop with a live update on the incoming bus which is refreshed every 10 seconds. You can also see where the bus is on the route and told you how many minutes until you bus arrived, which Stanley loved! We found it to be so accurate and made it stress-free, not needing to worry about missing any of our buses.
Our next bus arrived right on time again, and we headed towards Watton, spotting as many animals as we could on the way and then jumped off the bus at Saham Toney. Again, there was a short 5 minute walk to the park from the bus stop, but it was super easy to get to.
We had a lovely time exploring Saham Toney Play Park and also had a picnic too!
We planned to continue to head towards Swaffham on the number 11 bus, however with little ones we all know plans change! Stanley was super tired and wanted to head home.
The other parks on this route are:
We got back on the number 11 bus towards Dereham and changed to the number 21 to head home to North Elmham.
There are also these play parks on the number 21 Bus Route – Gressenhall Play Park & North Elmham Play Park as well as the well known parks in Dereham, Netherd Play Park & Dereham Rugby Field .
We had the best time using the buses and the app really does make it so much easier than I thought it would! We will definitely be using Konectbus and their app in the future! If you have any questions about our trip then please do get in touch!
As always I’d love to hear about your park adventures, especially if you use Konectbus to visit one or two.
Thank you to Katrin from Norwich Mumbler for asking us to take part in this Challenge!
