Ooh it’s been a while since we’ve been able to do a ‘what’s on’ post, but here we are finally!!
So what’s open this weekend in and around Norwich? These venues are now OPEN to the public, however, you must pre-book your visit. Remember that some aspects of the venue may still be closed, so please check ahead before you visit in case your favourite bit is not open yet!
Zoos, Animals and Theme Parks
- Africa Alive
- Banham Zoo
- Thrigby Hall Wildlife Gardens
- BeWILDerwood : a treetop adventure playground with a very special boat ride
- Great Yarmouth Pleasure Beach : theme parks rides for the whole family
- Roarr Dinosaur Park : includes splash zone and adventure play area
- Pettitts Animal Park : animals, theme park rides for children, small train rides
- Wroxham Barns : animals, shops, food and a new junior adventure play zone.
Gardens
- Fairhaven Woodland and Water Garden
- Blickling Hall : spring trail packs continue with a chocolate treat at the end.
- Sheringham Park
- Felbrigg : gardens and estate now open.
Outdoor Adventure Playgrounds
- Gressenhall Museum : new adventure playground and bank holiday craft activities.
- The Nest Challenge Woods, new outdoor wooden play space.
- Pensthorpe : large outdoor play area, indoor Hootz House remains closed for now.
- Holkham Hall: large outdoor play area and street food stands over the weekend.
Trains
- Bure Valley Railway : steam trains to the Norfolk Broads start running from 1st May. Book your household compartment now.
Current government restrictions still in place regarding families and venues are:
- public buildings such as libraries and community centres can reopen
- outdoor hospitality venues can reopen, with table service only
- most outdoor attractions including zoos, theme parks can reopen
- some smaller outdoor events such as fetes, literary fairs, and fairgrounds can take place
- indoor leisure and sports facilities can reopen for exercise with your household or support bubble
- all childcare and supervised activities are allowed indoors (as well as outdoors) for all children. Parent and child groups can take place indoors (as well as outdoors) for up to 15 people (children under 5 will not be counted in this number)
