We are sure that our list of family-friendly places to eat and drink in Norwich & Norfolk, some with the bonus of outdoor/play areas, is going to be one of your summer essentials. It’s always a treat to eat out and what’s even better is doing it sitting outside in the summer sun with your children happily playing – bliss!
We’ve rounded up some great family-friendly pubs, thanks to the Norwich Mumbler Chat group, but it would be great to add cafes to this too.
Let us know where you’ve been that is family-friendly, pub or cafe, and any other useful details for parents HERE and we’ll add them on!

What Mumblers say:
The dabbling duck is a lovely little pub in the traditional village of Great Messigham. It has a brilliant beer garden at the back with a range of bench and stool tables. There is also a small children’s playarea. The food is brilliant “gastro” pub style and nice stone baked pizzas. As well as the main pub they also have a covered barn area which provides more informal dining. There is off road parking available on the green which is lovely to walk around – Mumbler Anna
The Ffolkes is a great place if you are looking for a relaxed family meal whilst the kids are entertained by the extensive playarea which caters for all ages and has a zip wire!! The outdoor space consists of a wide selection of bench seating with umbrellas for shade and down the side there are covered “huts” which cater for larger groups and have heaters. There was a wide selection of traditional food including Fflokes speciality pies! There was also lots to choose from on the children menus and they got a carton of juice and a selection of desserts. There is a large car park and the outside area is dog friendly – Mumbler Anna
