All libraries in Norfolk run a rhymetime for babies/toddlers. These sessions are always free, and sometimes include a stay and play/coffee time afterwards. Click on this list of libraries, and then your local branch to find out more, or pop in.
Most libraries in Norfolk are open from 8am to 7pm, Monday to Friday and all day Saturday and Sunday, but aren’t staffed for all that time. To get access during unstaffed hours ask your branch for “Open Library Access” and your PIN number. Once this is set, you can scan your card outside, key in your PIN, and in you go!
Libraries are free to join, and there are no late charges on a child’s card until they turn 5. It’s OK if books get chewed, torn or anything else, it’s your child’s own way of exploring books!
All libraries have weighing scales, so you can weigh your baby when you visit.
You’re welcome to feed you baby, have a snack, or just sit and chill out in the library.
If you want more of an outing, several of our libraries have parks just outside, why not visit Wymondham, Costessey, Hellesdon, Taverham, Sprowston, Acle or Poringland. Books borrowed in one library can be returned to another.
If you’d like to join online, order a particular book, or find out more than log on to the libraries website.
