I didn’t intend on writing a review of Taverham Mill but we had so many nice photos and it was such a lovely place to visit I thought I may as well pop them on here with a little write up.
Taverham Mill is a nature reserve short drive out of the centre of Norwich and is home to lots of different wildlife. (We didn’t get to see the Highland Cows today as I think they were trying to keep cool under the trees, but would love to see these on another trip!)
There’s a visitor centre with gift shop that sells light refreshments and ice creams, toilets with baby changing facilities and a children’s play area. The nature reserve is beautiful and has two main walks, both navigable with a buggy although parts are a bit bumpy.
The Mini Mumblers loved pottering around the lakes, spotting dragonflies, ducks, pond skaters and fish. Just be aware, there were quite a lot of stinging nettles and biting horseflies (apparently the warm weather we’ve been having has seen a rise in these!), which unlike mosquitoes you can actually feel when they bite you.
We managed to do the shorter walk with little legs and had a play on the play area all in the morning before it got too hot, and will definitely be returning.
