To commemorate this historic milestone a series of events and initiatives will be held throughout Norfolk to celebrate the occasion.

This is a musical celebration where over 1,000 children and adults from across Norfolk will be performing songs and music from around the world. There will be two performances of A Royal Salute in the Grand Arena of the Norfolk Showground:
Wednesday June 29 at 5.20pm
Thursday June 30 at 5pm
The whole performance will take about 25 minutes.

There are four trails being set up that encompass all aspects of Norfolk from coastal scenery, woodlands, arable, historic, urban and more. These trails are from Great Yarmouth to Lowestoft, Gayton to Castle Acre, Heacham to King’s Lynn and Gressenhall to Dereham. These should be set up ready for use towards the end of the summer. Breckland Platinum Jubilee High Street trail – Explore your local Breckland market town between Monday 16 May and Sunday 19 June to find at least 10 missing crowns hidden in the shop windows of local businesses and support your high street along the way.
The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Beacon Trail – Take part in this AR trail experience up to 12th June where players visit characters that have come to life from Buckingham Palace and are visiting various locations including Great Yarmouth on a day out. You’ll also get to learn about a different decade in Her Majesty’s 70 year reign from each character.
Wymondham Jubilee Trail – Browick, Robert Kett, Ashleigh and Wymondham College Prep schools will all be selling trail sheets before the trail starts on Saturday 28 May. During the half term week you will be able to buy them (subject to business opening hours) from Reeves, Chapelfield Vets, Lemon Tree Café, Town Green Garden Café and Yum Yums.
Walkie Corgi trail – The trail runs this half term from 30th May to 5th June. 7 naughty little Corgis are hiding in the windows of 7 shops on the lower ground floor of Chantry Place – can you find them?

The purpose of the challenge is to work towards the achievement of a Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Challenge Badge. Each participant is required to complete the four challenges: physical, sustainability, learning and community. They can decide for themselves what level of challenge they will take on, ensuring that this is really for anyone and everyone.

The Estate will also host several events over the extended June Bank Holiday Weekend beginning on the 2 June with the traditional lighting of the Jubilee Beacon in the Royal Parkland. Katherine Jenkins OBE will be joined by The Military Wives to perform a very special live outdoor music concert on Friday 3 June and a live screening of the “Platinum Party at the Palace” will be shown on a big screen in the Royal Parkland on Saturday 4 June.

Platinum Jubilee Celebration at Ladybelt Country Park

This Royal celebration includes a local history display on East Carleton and Ketteringham’s tributes to monarchs over the centuries. There will also be two outdoor performances of ‘The Grimm Sisters’ by Scratchworks Theatre Company, plus a treasure hunt, clay modelling, and bush craft demonstrations. Then they will light the bonfire beacon.
