For many of us the thought of an expensive Christmas this year is worrying. We all want to give our mini Mumbler’s the most special Christmas and we realise there can be so much pressure to get the big gifts they really really want.
Team Mumbler have been having a think of some ideas that could help you this year (or any other). We believe it’s possible to create that Christmas magic, whilst being kinder to your bank balance.
Please let us know if you have any other ideas and/or recommendations by contacting us HERE.
We will add to this list to keep it current and useful.
Norwich has some fantastic Charity shops all over the city that sell pre-loved clothes and toys. Often children outgrow them so quickly that there is plenty of life left in them. Children do not care if its brand new. If it’s new to them, that’s good enough! Here are some local charity shops that have been recommended as being particularly good for children.
Kids Kiosk at Wroxham Barns (NANSA)
Tunstead Rd, Hoveton, Norwich NR12 8QU
East Anglian Children’s Hospice (EACH)
171 Plumstead Rd, Norwich NR1 4AB
Kett’s Kabin
43 Queen’s Rd, Hethersett, Norwich NR9 3DA
Smile Shop
390b Bowthorpe Rd, Norwich NR5 8AG
Sutton Toys
Anglia Square, Norwich
Priscilla Bacon Hospice Shop
School Road, Drayton, Norwich NR8 6DN
Vinted.com
Buy and sell second hand through vinted. It’s so easy, its addictive! Whatever you make from sales of your own is held in your vinted account to then use towards purchases. Or you can just make purchases if you don’t want to sell. All items are posted.
Facebook Marketplace
If you’re on Facebook, visit the Facebook Marketplace for some bargains. Keep an eye on it as things being added all the time.
Gumtree
Another easy app to use to search for items. Sellers will either want post or collection.
If your children already have a lot and you don’t really want to buy MORE physical stuff, consider gifting a voucher. This could be for a membership pass or a one off experience. We love this idea because it’s something to look forward to, saves you money on days out next year and creates memories.
