BeWILD and Batty this half term!

BeWILDerwood, Horning Road, Hoveton, NR12 8JW

Saturday 17th October – Sunday 1st November. 10am-5pm

Visit BeWILDerwood for family fun & frolics in their magical, autumnal woodland this October!

Brave the Broken Bridge, slip down the slippery slopes and climb to the top of the Treetop Tangles, spotting Hazel’s magic pumpkins and Snagglefang’s BeWILDerbats! It’s a treat, not a trick, running WILD through treehouses and zipping on Wobbly Wires at BeWILDerwood!

This event runs 17th – 18th October and 22nd October – 1st November 2020. The woods are closed 28th September – 16th October and 19th – 21st October 2020.

The Glorious Glowing Lantern Parade 2020

Saturday 17th October – Sunday 1st November. Allocated time slots between 5.30pm and 8.30pm.

Join us for a new adventure! Our most famous and fantastical event of the year, BeWILDerwood will glow like never beforein a magical light extravaganza!

See the park in a new light and watch the story unfold as you journey through the woods.

The event runs 17th – 18th October and 22nd October – 1st November 2020. The woods are closed 28th September – 16th October and 19th – 21st October 2020.

Friend in Deed is a Norfolk based charity that creates friendship across generations through various intergenerational schemes. We aim to reduce loneliness and promote kindness.
We are supporting older people from afar and work with care homes and dementia units across Norfolk, Suffolk, Essex and Cambridgeshire.
We would love families to get involved by writing and posting letters, cards and drawings to reduce loneliness that care home residents face.

The Spook-tacular Family Halloween Show

As darkness falls across there land, there’s no better time to grab YOUR little monsters and join us for the ultimate Halloween party.

This October half-term, The Monster Club invites the boys and girls of Norfolk to experience a Fang-tastic fusion of live music and live performance. Enter our ‘Haunted Big Top’ in the grounds of Wensum Valley Hotel, Taverham, for 75 minutes of frightful fun as “The Dead Ringers” our house band, get toes tapping on the other side. Be captivated by the Monster Club dancers and spellbound by our Spook-tacular Circus Stars, before meeting Friedrich Fright, the Ghost Host with the Most, bringing your favourite spooky stories to life with a spirited blend of comedy, creepiness and companionship.

No specific half term activities in October 2020 but the zoo is open and welcomes all visitors. Pre book only and government restrictions in place.

October Half Term is a great time to get out on the Broads, as the leaves are changing colour and the wintering birds are returning.  The Skipper will give a live commentary explaining the history of the Broads and pointing out all the wildlife.

Fairhaven Fairy Door Trail

There will be 9 Fairy doors to find throughout the garden and will cost 20p. On arrival (pre booked) you will be given a trail map and a bag to collect Autumn treasures from the resources in the gardens. Some of the doors will be accompanied by craft activities as you go around.

Hunt for 40+ painted pumpkins around the village to enter a prize draw. Trail sheets can be found in a box at 108 Norwich Road. Minimum donation of £3 per family, donations can be made in the trail box. Funds go to Talconeston primary school.
