Hello, I am a Maternity Reflexologist, Postpartum Professional and Mother of two gorgeous children.
Knowing the challenges, from my own experience, and seeing the struggles of other Mothers at this time, I have been keen to be a part of shifting the postpartum paradigm, to revolutionise, and bring more awareness about the importance of planning beyond the birth of our babies.
In my learnings with Julia Jones in her recognised Newborn Mothers Collective course, I have discovered how incredibly important it is for us to understand more about the transition into Motherhood, so that Mothers can feel less fearful and overwhelmed, but more confident and supported.
As Julia so beautifully puts it,
“When a baby is born, so is a mother, and the birth of a mother can be more intense than childbirth.”
We plan so much for the massive event of the birth of our babies, but what then?
What is the plan for after your little one arrives?
Who is going to be your village to help you fully rest, recover, and heal, so that you can gently transition into Motherhood?
How will you be supported whilst you focus on the full-time job of feeding and falling in love with your baby?
I look to support Mothers during their first 6 weeks postpartum in any way that specifically works for them and their family. Helping them emotionally and practically, as well as facilitating and creating space for them to confidently find their own path to becoming parents.
“After birth, there is a Sacred Window of time; a time for complete rejuvenation of a woman’s physical, mental and spiritual health. A time for deep, extended bonding with her newborn. The first 42 days after birth set the stage for her next 42 years.” Ysha Oakes
So, I help parents to set their stage.
I help parents to recognise their own unique family vision, identify their fears and dreams along with any obstacles and challenges that may get in the way. We establish a postpartum plan to ensure that Mum is nurtured, nourished, rested, and healed. Through this preparation Dad/partner, family, and friends can better understand how to support Mum at this crucial time.
Dads/partners need to feel good too and understand what their role looks like in the early stages after their baby is born. They have a huge role to play and it must never be underestimated. I help Dads/partners to feel more confident in their role.
I run free Postpartum Education Workshops encouraging parents to learn about this special unique time, that requires specific support to ensure the long-term wellbeing of their family. I also offer a free 1:1 consultation to parents to explore how I can support them. They can email or call me to arrange a consultation.
From the 29th October I am starting the next 6 week Virtual Support Sessions for Mums-to-be and Newborn Mums, as well as a 3 week series of online Baby Reflexology & Aromatherapy Workshops from the 3rd November.
