Jen Clarke, from MXMR, tells you more about a women’s only running group and how you can join them for the next Couch to 5km course for FREE…
After the birth of my second child, I knew I wanted to get fit again. Running wasn’t new to me, it’s something I’ve enjoyed over the years and through the seasons of life.
It occurred to me that time is precious when you’re a mum and there isn’t much of it for yourself…that’s when Mile Cross Mums Run (MXMR) started.
In May last year, me and a group of like-minded mums started to run together in the evenings after we put the kids to bed.
Don’t worry we’re not fitness fanatics! We wouldn’t even call ourselves runners necessarily, but rather we enjoy being together and taking some time out, regaining some headspace, to talk, to laugh about the mishaps, encourage and support each other through the crazy business of motherhood.
MXMR is a friendly women’s only running group. We walk/jog/run for no more than 30 minutes then we head back to The King’s Venue for refreshments and a good natter.
All done within an hour so we can flop into our beds at a decent time!
We understand it’s hard to get going sometimes, so this April 2018 we are offering a FREE Couch to 5KM course. We are offering spaces for absolute beginners to join our 10 week course designed for those who have never run before. By the end of the course you will have the confidence to have a go at a local park run!

The King’s Venue, The Norman Centre, Bignold Road, NR3 2QZ
It’s FREE, just remember your trainers and a good sports bra!
High visibility bibs are provided throughout the course.
