Why not try ‘Meaningful Moves for Baby and Me’ at the beautiful new Copperdot Studio Trowse with me, Rosa. I’m a mum of 2, and although on the most part I loved my transition into motherhood, it came with its fair share of bumps in the road. I took my little ones to activities when they were babies, but I didn’t manage to find a class that really took into consideration the adults in the group.
I think having an opportunity to process, be reflective and tune into my body, post-baby would have been such a benefit to me in those early days. As well as a mum, I am a dance artist (specialising in early years and developmental movement), a Movement Therapist (MA) and a Sensory Specialist, and after taking with other mothers, I felt compelled to use my skills set to create Meaningful Moves.
Meaningful Moves is about relationships; with the new little person in your life, other like minded mothers, and the relationship you have with yourself. The session will allow you the time to physically and emotionally connect with your baby and yourself. There will be lots of opportunities for you to explore together through movement, music and sensory play and its a perfect way to support your babies physical, emotional and cognitive development. It also offers mothers an opportunity to focus on their own wellbeing in a lighthearted yet supportive environment, allowing you the space and freedom to share, reflect and connect with the other mothers in the group.
Who is the class for?
This session is open anyone’s who identifies as being a mother, and their babies from birth. You may want to simply try something different, or like the time and location of the session. But the classes might be particularly useful for anyone who might be finding the transition to mother-hood difficult, or different than they expected. It might be that you want to take some time to reconnect with yourself, in whatever way you need.
Perhaps the Pandemic has affected your journey into motherhood and you want a class that feels safe and welcoming? I am keeping the numbers low and I have found lots of strategies to be able to deliver mother and babies sessions in a Covid-safe but always friendly way.
