We’ve got a lot of fabulous parks in and around Norwich with some great children’s equipment. However, after a great chat within the Norwich Mumbler chat room, we’re also adding a post about Sandy parks in the area.
Have a look here, enjoy the sand in your shoes after a visit, and let us know if there are any we’ve missed!
🏝 Waterloo Park, Norwich, NR3 3HX. A large sandy area, take buckets and spades, surrounding the children’s splash pad in the children’s play park area. Usually very busy in the summer and school holidays. Since coronavirus, the splash pad has been closed. Toilets available and chat locally that a new cafe will open there soon, after the last one closed.
🏖 Eaton Park 2 S Park Ave, Norwich NR4 7AU. A large sandy area in the children’s play park with fun play equipment to use in the sand. Toilets are available near the excellent cafe. Takeaway food and drink right now.
🏝 St Clements Park, Norwich, NR3 3QD. Fairly large sandy area to play in, enough for buckets and spades and a good dig! A lovely big slide which ends in the sand. No toilets or cafe, but this is my hidden gem, it’s a beautiful tucked away park with plenty of children’s equipment to play on.
🏖 Sandy Park, Mousehold, Norwich, NR3 4RN. Known and loved locally as ‘the sandy park’ this one has the best views of Norwich. A large sandy area underneath the play equipment with plenty of room for everyone to play. A local group “friends of Sandy Park” are also clearing the area around it to make it more accessible for children to play in the nearby Heath. No toilets or cafe here, just great views and sand.
🏝 Wensum Park, Norwich, NR3 2DD. Two sandy areas, a smaller one with a climbing frame and fixed buckets to move sand around and a larger one in the children’s play area which has plenty of room to play. No toilets or cafe here, but there are plenty of ducks and geese to see too.
🏖 Jenny Lind Park, Norwich, NR2 2SW. Basketball, football and a multi use area. Fantastic children’s area with play equipment and safely enclosed. Play area has sand for digging and playing in. Toilets available. Parking and shops surrounding the outside of the park.
Thanks to the Mumbler chat room, here are more parks with sand on the list. However, I haven’t been to these ones yet, clearly it’s time I did! Feel free to tell us more about them on the Norwich Mumbler Chat Group
