Thanks so much to Mumbler Rachel for letting us know about Geocaching, I think my Mini Mumblers are going to LOVE this!
Geocaching is a type of treasure hunting for everyone! You download the app and just search for an area you would like to walk and see if there’s a geocache there. On the app it will tell you how many metres you are away from it and then you have to search around. They can be hidden in ornaments, boxes or little tubes. Once found you sign a little piece of paper within and mark on your app. Some geocaches contain little treasures so you can swap toys/items. You can even find special geocaches called trackables, these have tags on and once entered into the app, can tell you how many miles around the world that they’ve travelled.
You can get 1000s of locations on the app for free or you can sign up to a premium account to discover a various range of geocaches for only £23 for the year, which I highly recommend.
We have discovered so many hidden walks just by searching for an area to geocache. One of The best ones we’ve found for our daughter is called the unicorn trail with many items in the boxes being unicorn themed.
Another we’ve found called rolys walk near mulbarton contains puzzle themed geocaches where you have to work out how to open the boxes.
There are so many creative ones as pictured and for a challenge there are ones to do in the dark using reflectors.
Geocaching has provided hours of fun for our family searching around the countryside and discovering the hidden gems of Norfolk.
