Norwich Millennium Library: This year’s Summer Reading Challenge theme is Space Chase – an out of this world adventure inspired by the 50th anniversary of the moon landings.
Under 5s can collect stickers for sharing stories at home.
Bandstand Concerts 2019: Every Sunday from 7th July to 25th August in various Norwich parks.
Norwich Evenings: Free live music and Covent Garden style street performers every Thursday evening between 4.40pm and 8pm, 4th July – 29th August 2019. City centre locations.
Intu Chapelfield Summer: Wed 31st July to Thursday 29th August. Become a bug expert this summer with arts, crafts and lots of fun. Join us this summer for heaps of fun, we have 5 weeks of bug inspired activities with help from the experts; Norfolk Wildlife Trust, Natural England, The Broads Authority and RSPB Norfolk.
Hobbycraft Kids Club: Kids Craft Club ,suitable for 4+ including Slime Saturdays, Decopatch, Ceramics, Windchimes and foam shapes.
Great Yarmouth Pleasure Beach Fireworks: Free entry amusement park and every Wednesday in the summer holidays there is a free fireworks display. Hemsby Beach Fireworks: Free on Tuesday nights through summer.
Redwings Horse Sanctuary: 1st July to 8th September 2019, open daily from 10am to 4pm. A FREE family day out, dog friendly. Meet friendly rescued horses and donkeys. Redwings, Aylsham, NR11 6UE and Redwings, Caldecott, NR31 9EY
Norwich City Council parks and theatre family days: “School’s Out” Children’s summer holiday activities. Neighbourhood parks, fun days and outdoor theatre for children.Play Days: Suitable for children up to 8 years old Magic shows, arts and crafts, circus skills, soft play and games. Bring a picnic and make a day of it!
Theatre; Inspirational science, hilarious history, captivating circus, and classic characters await at our free outdoor theatre sessions for children every Friday this August.

Strumpshaw Tree Fair (under 16s free) : 20th and 21st July, Strumpshaw Hall, Low Road, Norwich. 10am to 5pm both days.
Beach Cleans: Great Yarmouth – 24th July meet at restaurant patio near Sea Life Centre, 5.30pm-6.30pm. Gorlseton – 25th July meet at bandstand near the Ocean Rooms, 10am to 11am.
Family Circus Workshop: Friday 26th July at Harford Community Centre, 10 The Lastings, Hall Road, NR4 6ET. 10.30-1PM, acrobatics, juggling, hula hoop, plate spinning.

Gorleston Clifftop Festival: Saturday 27th and Sunday 28th July 2019. A free, family orientated and fun festival. 40 hours of live music, a large fun fair and lots of stalls. Children’s arena and fun dog show.

Norwich Cathedral Family Fun Days: (Free for under 5s) 1st August and 21st August 10.30-3.30pm: Suitable for all the family with activities for children up to 12 years old. £3.50 for children over five years, under-fives and adults free.
Petting Zoo and Wildlife Day: Friday 2nd August from 2pm to 5pm. Netherton Steak House, The Street, Long Stratton, NR15 2XG, Bert’s amazing creatures petting zoo and Norfolk wildlife encounters.
Children’s Fun day at Peter Beale’s Roses Ltd: Friday 9th August 2019, 10am to 3pm. Peter Beale’s Roses, London Road, Attleborough, NR17 1AY. Crafts, games and face painting. Story telling trail and summer bug hunt. Bring a picnic if you wish. Free entry and parking. Small charge for face painting
Norwich in Wonderland Day: Saturday 17th August 2019 Chapelfield Gardens 11am-4.30pm. An Alice in Wonderland themed family fun day with live music, dancers, stalls, bouncy castles, Alice in wonderland themed games, character actors and much more.
Cromer Carnival: Sat 17th August to Friday 23rd August, Cromer Carnival is celebrating its 50th anniversary! Free entry but tickets required for certain events.
Grand Norwich Duck Race:Sunday 25th August 11am-3.30pm The Ribs of Beef, Norwich. Free to watch, £2 to sponsor a duck. Money raised goes to Break.
Carrow Fire Station Fun Day: Sunday 25th August 2019 11am to 4pm. Meet the crew, look round a fire engine, search dog demonstrations and safety demonstrations. Free to attend, any funds raised on the day go to chosen charities. Bracondale, Norwich, NR1 2EE
Our Superhero World: Thursday 29th August 2019 10am -3pm Free family fun at Waterloo Park. Discover the real -life superpowers that are all around us. Make your own slime, free face painting, do the animal superhero trail, get up close with super creepy crawlies.

Ketts Fun Day and Fayre:(£1 for adults) Sunday 1st September 2019 10.30am-4pm. Medieval village, Black Knight re-enactors. Come and celebrate Ketts Rebellion. Adults £1, kids free. Free parking.

We live in such a beautiful city and are spoilt for choice when it comes to parks, gardens & nature reserves. Lots are free to enjoy or have a small entry fee. Have a walk, bike ride or take a picnic…Make it more exciting with nature bingo, a hunt or doing some leaf rubbings – Lots of free ideas available with a quick internet search.
