And we were lucky enough to be invited just before they flung their Twigglyboggly doors open to check out everything they have put in place to make sure you and your Mini Mumblers can have a super socially distanced day out.
If you have been before, you will notice there are additional queueing systems in place at the Ticket offices, Boats, Zip Wires, Slippery Slopes, Toilets (I spotted an extra toilet block too). There are hand sanitiser dispensers everywheeeeeeere, so you can top up all the way around.
They have one way systems in places for their catering and they’ve introduced a hatch to collect your food orders from. The Big Hat area (where your Mini Twiggles can do crafts) now has one way in, spread out tables, individual craft supplies and cleaning equipment on each table! (They also have staple-less staplers, which frankly BLEW.MY.MIND).
There wasn’t any storytelling when we were there as the park wasn’t actually open to the public, but when you go there will be an usher and shapes on the ground for families to stay by.
They’ve also had some new info leaflets/guides made with more information, which you can pick up by the ticket desks etc.
My two eldest Mini Mumblers were absolutely over the moon to be allowed back here, it really is one of our favourite days out.
What age is it suitable from? This is a hard one as I think it depends on your child/children. Mine are nearly 6, 3 and 1 and all had a brilliant time when we went. There are things for smaller ones to do, but not as much. I think my middle one really started to make the most of our visits when she was around 2.5 years old, but she loves the big slides and isn’t fussed about being up high. Is it ‘doable’ solo with a 3-year-old and a 6-month-old? Depends if you are going to carry/babywear the 6-month-old so you can go on the play equipment with the 3-year-old as you will need to go on with them. It is doable, but it is helpful to have someone else with you! What’s it like taking a pushchair? Easy peasy. Lots of space, easy to navigate paths. What is happening with the annual passes that expired during lockdown? All memberships that expired between 21st March and 17th July have been automatically extended by 12 months. You can prebook by picking the annual pass ticket on the booking site and your new pass cards will be printed and ready for collection. Do they do NHS/Emergency Services discount? No, they don’t, but the Twiggles have told me that they’re planning something super special for next year.
Bewilderwood are only accepting pre-bookings, so pop to their WEBSITE if you’d like to book.
Full disclosure: We were invited to run around by ourselves FOC and BeWILDerwood also advertise on the website, but (as always!) this doesn’t mean that we would ever give anything but our honest opinion or recommend something unless we really thought it was the bees knees. And we genuinely think BeWILDerwood is the bees knees.
